“Vacation Mode”

Long time user of this app and love it! I think a feature missing is being able to have a mode for when youre on vacation so you can track expenses specifically for that vacation. I currently have to change the category of each transaction manually so i have an accurate accounting of how much i spent. I dont carry a monthly budget for travel, bc like most ppl i dont travel every month!

Expense category nested within another

For example, we travel on multiple trips per year. I would like to create a new category for "Trip A" for example and nest it under Travel and Vacation. Another nested category for "Trip B" etc so I can easily see what each trip cost us in total.

So I like the categories but I Laos want to tie different category expenses to say a vacation. For instance, I go on vacation and pay for the hotel, that could be under vacation. I buy breakfast, that’s categorized as a meal/dining, and then I purchase a shirt, that’s categorized as shopping. Then I purchase souvenirs, that’s gifts. There’s about 4 categories of expenses which is fine. I like the categories but I also want a feature that ties all of the expenses incurred on the vacation. This way I know exactly how much I spent, overall.
Thank you.

What we need is a rollover budget feature. So budgets can be spread out over a year

Agree with past comments. But I would also like some smart insights or nudges on my progress toward my vacation goal/budget. For example, if I set a yearly vacay budget of $5k, I want to see how much of that I’ve already spent at least quarterly, and how I’m doing to make sure that budget is fully funded all year. If I’ve gone over my monthly budget for the last X months, then prompt me to make some cutbacks in my discretionary spending before it’s too late. Add’l suggestions (beyond renegotiating insurance or canceling subscriptions) would be good, like rolling debt into a lower interest credit card or telling me: “spending 25% less in eating out and the liquor store can get you back on track”.

Rollover budgets would also accomplish this. It's needed for any large expenses that aren't monthly.

As well as the ability to create budgets for expected large expenses (ie. home renovation, wedding, etc).

Id love it if i could just toggle on vacation mode and any purchases made during that time were categorized as such

May this is a nice simple way to do it I think.

What we do is create a separate savings account. And budget each month the money going to that account. Then track that account on rocket money.

Yes, this is a major need! When I go on a weekend trip, I want to be able to budget everything out for THAT trip! Same with every other scenario!
