Transaction rules for specific categories

It would be great to be able to say anything that falls in this specific category follows a specific rule.
For example,
I look at home projects as outside my budget and have a home project budget for the year. I created a home project category so I can move the transactions into that category but I then have to tell every single transaction to be ignored from the monthly budget.
It would be great to either have it hit an annual budget or be able to say all transactions in this category are not included/ignored from the monthly budget automatically

I had a similar request - typing it here
We need to be able to manipulate entire category in 1 shot - aka add more metadata attributes to categories aka make categories richer aka add ability to bulk edit all transactions in a category
Example
tag an entire custom category as “vacation” (custom tag). When we do this, every transaction in that category gets the custom tag
Ignore an entire custom category. When we do this every transaction in that category should be marked as ignore
Tag an entire custom category as “reimbursement”. When we do this every transaction in that custom category is marked as “reimbursement” - think business trips

Hi Brayden, thanks for sharing that feedback!
I can see how that would be helpful to set up rules by category in addition to by transaction name, especially if you're tracking these as outside your normal budget.
For now, one way that you can do partially do this is by creating a rule based on transaction name for transactions that are part of your home projects and enable the "Ignore transactions" toggle. For example, if you're shopping at Home Depot or Ace Hardware for these projects, you could create a rule that categorizes those transactions into Home Projects and then ignores them.
Let me know if that seems to work for now, and we've noted your overall feedback here!
