Rollover Budget

I would like to be able to rollover to the next month anything budgeted that hasn't been used. I want to be able to choose which categories roll over.

Just checking in to say that we are in our second month of Rocket Money and I love the budgeting features BUT we really need it to rollover from month to month. I talked to an agent who said it was in the works, which is great. Any updates on when it might roll out? Thanks.

Dynamic Budgets Month to Month

It would be helpful to have a feature where my budgets roll over dynamically month to month. For example, if I underspend by $100 in a category one month, the next month’s budget would increase by $100. Or vice versa, if I overspend by $100, the next month’s budget would be reduced by $100.

I would like to see the ability to carry over budgeting. For instance, I budget x$ a month for clothes. I might not spend that every month but I earmark it. I would love to have what is not spent in a category carried forward to the next month.

It would be good to know how much we’ve left to spend in a category that we don’t spend in every month

some budget items are not every month, it's ridiculous I can't save for them monthly.

Need Rollover budget option

Love Rocket money so far. Need Rollover budgeting for sure. Mint (a free app) had this option and not sure why it’s not there in Rocket Money. This is important for us to track any budget items that varies seasonally

Rollover Funds Essential

I need to be able to create budgets ahead of time. I also need to have a rollover feature that allows funds, whether positive or negative amounts, to be rolled into the next month.

We definitely need rollover budgeting. Even simple things rollover such as a gift budget. Some months you have no need to give a gift and some months you need to give 5 gifts! It’s nice to know how much is there over time. Besides, our water bill is only quarterly. We are new to Rocket but I’m wondering how I’m going to reconcile a bill 3x’s our monthly budgeted amount if Rocket doesn’t allow rollovers.

Just to add - like others - this is a feature so integral to many of our line items that we won’t be able to use Rocket without great frustration and will end up cancelling. I haven’t seen any response from Rocket either that indicates there is recognition that this issue is widely desired and practical, nor any explanation as to why it isn’t offered. At the very least, have someone put together suggested work arounds to communicate to your users who request the function so we can decide if the value Rocket does provide is worth the hassle of what it doesn’t.

Not to be obnoxious about this but it occurred to me that perhaps I could use the goals feature for anything that might have a rollover. It seemed a slightly annoying work around but possible since we like so much else about Rocket. And then I discovered that rocket actually stores your month from your bank account into their own savings account. So then I used the contact us option and asked their AI tool for any ideas on how to manage quarterly budgets or variable line items. The options were either manually keeping notes and adjusting each month or try using goals. It occurred to me that there isn’t really any incentive for Rocket Money to add a rollover feature if the only automated alternative has its own financial incentive for the company. I’m sure they gain some kind of interest or financial kick back from the savings accounts used for goals. Hopefully I’m wrong, but if this is remotely the reason why they haven’t added such a normal feature to an otherwise very robust tool, then I’m doubly disappointed and definitely inclined to cancel.
