It would be great to have an in-app to-do list: a widget that would pop up when we open the app so we could be reminded to cancel subscriptions, change autopay accounts, etc.

Absolutely Agree. Wilth all bills & purchases going to auto withdrawl or online payments of sorts, Notes to Self in a general manner would be of great help.
