Making rules effective date

When I create a rule it won't let me save it for only future transactions. I have to apply it to all for it to work. It gets frustrating when I have another rule in place that has almost the same words example Capital One and Capital One 360.

Hi all!
I'm excited to share that we've just launched a new setting for transaction rules where you can filter by date in order to.
You can find this filter on the "Create Rule" page, right above the "Account" filter, which is another new one that we just released.
We would love to hear your thoughts on this. This should allow you to set up the start date for rules.
Please give it a try and comment here if you have any follow-up questions or comments!

Exclude Past Transactions from Rules

I often can’t create a new rule without messing up all my related past transactions that have already been categorized, etc. Can we add an option NOT to apply the rule to past transactions, only future.

Crest rule without applying backwards

For example: I want to create a rule that says anything that contains “walmart” change to groceries. Because that’s typically what that is for me. But when creating the rule it forces me to apply to all past transactions … and I’ve set some to gas and other categories. I want to keep them as is while having the rule moving forward.

I'd like to make a rule stop now, but still apply retroactively. For example, I used to want my weekly coffee runs to be included in my "education" budget for grad school, but now I've graduated and I want them to be in my "dining and drinks" budget going forward.

Include dates as a condition for the ignoring rule

With the recent Venmo integration, I want to not ignore my past Venmo transactions but start ignoring them now as it shows up twice on my account. I don’t want to keep manually ignoring them every time but I also don’t want to lose track of my past Venmo expenses.
Please create a “Ignore starting from X date” parameter

You should be able to update rules and say the name of the transaction… without changing everything in the system. I have category I switch between like “open reimbursement “ and “closed reimbursements”.. it sucks that there’s no way to update a rule without making changes to historical transactions … again this should be an option not a requirement
