It would be incredible to use a consumer API to retrieve information like remaining category budget, spend, net worth, etc. I’m surprised this isn’t a feature already.

With the advancement of AI, it's getting very easy to implement company's API's or third-party integrators into custom apps for FREE. If Rocket Money doesn't start supporting API's, it won't be long before individuals can just build their own private label Rocket Money Dashboard with many of the features. In fact, I'll build one today now that I think about it.

I'm considering canceling my subscription and building something with the Plaid API rather than wait for RM. This should be a high priority now that agents such as Claude have MCP server access and can connect to external data sources.

Seems it might be time to switch off this service since they are still not offering this. ChatGPT just announced their new personal finance experience for pro users.

I was already just thinking of leaving and making my own app depending on how consumer-friendly Plaid would be but this might have just put the nail in the coffin for me.
