I’m specifically talking about the change with pastel backgrounds for categories. It’s frustrating trying to tell the difference between some of the colors (my color vision is pretty good), and I’m sure it’s practically unusable for others. The fine line symbols make it worse honestly, and increase eye strain.

Think about it — budgeting is a drag. sometimes it’s downright depressing. Colors and fun icons make it interesting, and I’m going to want to use an app more if it comes with a dopamine hit. Not if it’s hard to look at and giving sad beige. Also, many of us process information better with color coordination, which is why it was probably added in the first place! At least, please consider an option to switch between “minimalist” (new) and “contrast” (old). I also liked how I could clearly tell between subscriptions (circle logo) and regular transactions (category symbol). I can see how maybe some of the old icons were hard to see on a light background. I think a bold dark symbol with colored outline (or dark mode) could be a better solution in that case.
